stargazing '98 - 2000-08-13

I'm trying to stargaze and gel my hair at the same time. I think the only real reason I still use gel in my hair is because the smell of it evokes warm and yummy memories from days gone by in 1998. Memories like playing "Swords" in a St. Jacobs forest... Or D&D in an art room... Also, the Circus of Cacophony (the CoC), which was my OAC Chemistry company. We specialized in water fights and wearing down the flints in the sparkers.

The gelling is all done, by the way... Now I just have to wait for it to dry, and then: bed. And then: work. Sigh.

It's been a while for 'stargazing'. I can't ignore the facet of my many incarnations that has almost always stayed constant now that I have spiffy new interfaces on my homepage. This is pretty much what brought me to the dance of the mad web-designers. Play it bad DJ!

But I did want to take a hiatus already. I had actually written a 'snapshot' explaining it, it was online for about two minute, but there was no use in running away. I was bummed I crashed my car, I got over it. It could have been worse, and it was not my fault. It's not like I killed someone, or drove a hateful spear into their side. Or in this case, a hateful Hyundai Accent. No, the hate was driven into me. Just one more reason why I applaud those Calvin & Hobbes decals where Calvin pisses on the Ford logo.

Yes, I learned to deal with my misfortune, and I'm getting in shape, slightly with all of the walking and biking I've been doing. Also, I am emotionally getting into shape again, too. It's what I needed...

A very large, old, ethnic woman came into the store today and told me that her son woke her up at three in the morning last night because the northern lights were visible. If this is true, than I am disappointed that I missed it. She said there were shooting stars everywhere. I asked if she had cataracts...

Oooh, another throwback to 1998: me being a smart ass in this column.

But, that would have been one hell of a stargaze (a literal one, which would have inspired a figurative one for surely). I have been waiting for something remarkable to happen in the Elmira skies for years...

One last thing before I quit: some people, apparently, did not notice the clear-as-day 'back' link at the bottom of this table. That takes you to my new homepage. Bookmark there, instead of here, please.
