two days - 2000-05-16

I am going to steal a format from fishy.

Monday:

Today was the day, it seemed that I jumped back and forth between worlds. Dustin places all of his friends and acquaintances in different worlds, and gets quite agitated when those worlds collide.

I suppose his little theory has merit with me. As I said, I jumped back and forth between worlds, in classic Jerry O'Connell style.

I spent the morning with Kim, where we went shopping, or something. At Value Village I acquired two cute little metal sculptures. I think I may have acquired tetnis, too, but...

I was quite surprised to hear music coming from the one. It is a metal sculpture of a windmill, and it must have been somebody's grade school shop project. The metal is all jagged and torched... It is quite lovely. I turned the windmill a bit, and these random notes played. I feel as if I am holding some relic of a family that has been torn apart, and that the melody of the windmill once used to play beautifully at Sunday dinners, while the uncles and aunts praised little Bobby for his torch work. Kind of sad.

Bobby's probably moved to the west coast, after a dispute with his parents over his fiance, and has not talked to them since. His older brother is too busy with med school, and his younger sister is in a detention center for cocaine possession. The dog was put to sleep months ago...

Anyway, with Kim, I also bought a Bible, which I have been wanting for years now. I have always wanted to read the entire thing, cover to cover, because the stories that I have heard sound quite engaging. Plus, I would imagine the experience would be quite enlightening...

Kim went to work, and I picked up Chad. Went to the Gap. Ate mall food. On the way home, this man flagged us down at an intersection, and asked us to lead him to the Network (local strip club). We did, with much fun. Popular theory was, that his girlfriend in the passenger seat, was starting work there that night, and they were running late, and desperate to get there... I feel fulfilled knowing I brought his girlfriend closer to nudity.

And then I dropped off Chad, and picked up Dustin. After a brief rendezvous at his house, where we heard the latest politics of our "group" of "friends", we went to rent Cannibal Holocaust, the sickest film of all time (apparently). Then to the liquor store, where we learned with delight that you can make your own six-pack of beer. I went for a geographical variety, culminating in a Japanese brew I may save for this weekend when we go camping (somewhere).

The film was sick, but certainly not as sick as some stuff I've seen Trent do. It was more disturbing, though, because the violence was very raw, and some of the images are burned into my memory still... I don't do too well with disembowelling on screen...

And after that, Kim jumped worlds over to Dustin's, and we hung out for a bit, mostly discussing the new caffeinated water on the market. Not to be used as a supplement for sleep, you know...

Monday was capped off with a pleasant surprise: Shawn Michaels returned to wrestling, which means I care about it again. Anytime Shawn feels like working again, means that things are about to get less trashy, and more exciting, etc... I hope he will be inspiring again, or, at the very least, I'll be able to steal some lines from him.

Tuesday:

Haircut. Back to work at two.

When I work, that leaves a big void in my writing for this site, usually. Usually. Tonight we had Dustin and Nick, aspiring film makers, hanging around filming stuff, and it gave me the itch to want to try documentary film making. I am urging Dustin to borrow Nick's camera on Thursday, so him and I can go out, and see what happens. I've always thought that we have chemistry, maybe we can parlay this into something special? Maybe not...

Tonight we had Dave in (as usual), and we pitted super heroes together, and tried to guess the outcome. Typical Dave/Kam fare. What is interesting, though, is Dave's interest in this site. Finally, I may, soon, have a collaborator. He might write some stuff, just to give all of you gentle readers the Kwik Mart experience.

That, combined with fishy's rumblings about wanting to start some sort of "online community" which would include myself, makes me excited that my site, after over a year, is finally progressing.

Then, Chad and I did coffee. Reminisced over Jason Priestley's greatest moments on 90210. Standard Chad/Kam fare. Nothing worth typing.

Tomorrow:

Work, and more Pokemon. I am hoping to also start writing, and reading the Bible.

Things are looking up, as I just kind of solidified plans for this weekend. Hurrah!

I intend on things looking up until I start to get really nervous about starting school again. Which should come around in mid-August.

Until then (either that, or tomorrow), I remain,

Kam2K
